| Greenstead St. Andrew’s Nursery and Infants’ School is a community school, which caters for children between the ages of three and seven years. The pupils are offered a rich and varied curriculum by a dedicated team of staff led by Head Teacher Mrs Gillian Jasper, who joined the school on the 19th April 2010. The school was awarded Investors in People in September 2007, Healthy Schools in 2007 and the Active Mark in 2008.

The school was last inspected by OFSTED in November 2008. They quote “This is a good school working in very challenging circumstances. Children and parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school. They greatly appreciate the school’s efforts on their behalf. The curriculum is good because it acknowledges that children learn best through much practical activity. Staff work very hard and successfully to create an effective learning environment. Children benefit from the extremely positive relationships the school has with parents. Excellent links with parents, other professionals and organisations contribute to outstanding progress in relating to others and reaching good levels of personal development.” |

| St Andrew's Nursery and Infants' School is situated in Greenstead just outside of Colchester . Coming from Colchester , travel down Cowdray Avenue , onto St. Andrew's Avenue then, at the Greenstead roundabout, turn left onto Avon Way . At the mini roundabout turn left onto Hawthorn Avenue . Follow Hawthorn Avenue all the way up and round, then turn left again onto Hickory Avenue . The school is a few hundred yards down the road on the left and is easily visible. |
